Christmas at Southland Christian Church
It seems to happen earlier every year - the Christmas season kicks off as stores bring out the holiday decorations and greeting cards. It seems fitting that since shops ring in the holiday season these days, the holiday season seems to be all about shopping. It's a quest for the perfect gift.
This year, Southland' Christmas program, "The Music of Christmas," will feature a concert with a choir, orchestra, ensembles and soloists bringing contemporary and traditional Christmas music to life. There are two concerts scheduled: 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12, and 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13. Both events will be held in Building E, Worship Center. These events are free and open to the public.
Southland will also offer an opportunity to celebrate Christmas during the Pre-Christmas Weekend Services: 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22; and 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11:30 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 23. All services will be held in Building E, Worship Center.
There will be no evening service on Dec. 23, and Southland will not have a Christmas Eve service.
Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University Program offered
Generations Community will offer the newly revised for 2008 Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University Program. The course will begin on Sunday, Jan. 6 at 6 p.m. Classes will last about two hours and will run for 13 weeks. Macedonia Baptist Church upcoming events
Macedonia Baptist Church will celebrate Pastor Jones's 28th Anniversary on Dec. 9.
The Morning Worship Guest Speaker will be the Rev. Larry Poyntz, of Calvary Baptist Church, Louisville. On Dec. 16, 2007 the church's Christmas program "Miracle on Main" will be presented at 4 p.m. and a watch service will be held on Dec. 31 at 11 p.m.
The public is invited to attend all services.
Jessamine Christian Church Children's Christmas Play
The Jessamine Christian Church's children's choir will present their Christmas Program, "The Wondrous Gift" on Dec. 16 at 6 p.m.
