Stanford Christmas parade set

Stanford's Christmas parade will be Saturday in downtown Stanford. The theme is "Christmas Around the World."

Santa will visit at the Willys Overland garage at 4:30 p.m. A tree lighting is planned for 5:30 p.m. on the courthouse lawn.

The parade, led by the American Legion, starts at 6 p.m. A Snow Queen pageant is part of the event. Sixty girls, ages 4 through high school, are vying for crowns in four age groups.

Lincoln County Homemakers will sponsor a Tour of Homes 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Cost for touring the three homes is $5. Maps of the homes on the tour and tickets are available at each house. Houses are: Tommy and Rosie Saylor, 663 Elm St., Crab Orchard; Glenna Baker, 800 Burgin St., Crab Orchard; and Stephen and Tammy Dean, 2285 U.S. 150 East. Tickets will be sold for $1 each on two separate gifts baskets located at two of the houses. A drawing will be at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Chili supper, auction planned

A chili supper and auction, with proceeds going to Christmas with Santa and Toys for Tots, will be Saturday at the Junction City Fire Department on Main Street. The supper starts at 5 p.m., with the auction following at 6 p.m.

Rural Development office moves

The USDA Rural Development office in Nicholasville will relocate to 141 Leestown Center Way, Suite 201, Lexington, effective Dec. 21.

The Lexington office will service Boyle, Garrard and Mercer counties along with seven other Central Kentucky counties.

Christmas Village, open house set

NICHOLASVILLE - All God's Children will host its second annual Christmas Village and Open House 6 p.m. Dec. 10 and 11 at 2575 Danville Road, south of Nicholasville on U.S. 27.

The free event includes a life-size, walk-through village as well as a live nativity scene. Santa will be there and Mrs. Claus will have a craft activity for the children. Visitors will enjoy refreshments, music, carolers, a silent auction and a one-horse open sleigh for family photos. Tours of the decorated, pre-Civil War mansion also will be available.

All God's Children, Inc. is a private, non-denominational, nonprofit organization that provides care and support to in-crisis, young mothers and their babies.

County Committee ballots due

Ballots for the County Committee must be turned into the Farm Service Agency office no later than Dec. 3. Elected committee members and alternates take office Jan. 1

Corrections

The job title of Bridgette Milby, code enforcement officer and Alcohol Beverage Control administrator for the city of Danville, was incorrect in a story about a neighborhood meeting in Wednesday's paper.

A Christmas bazaar will be 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Danville Convention Center on Ben Ali Drive. The time was submitted incorrectly in Wednesday's paper.
