Library reopens at temporary site

Boyle County Public Library will reopen Monday in its temporary location at 1857 S. Danville Bypass in the old ATR building across the street from the recycling center. The library closed Nov. 4 in order to vacate its Broadway Street building, which is being renovated and expanded.

The library will resume its normal operating hours: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.

Basketball league plans signups

MITCHELLSBURG - Registration for the Higher Goal Basketball League will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 8 and 15 at Mitchellsburg Baptist Church Life Center, 4060 Mitchellsburg Road.

Games will be held on Saturdays from Jan. 26 through March 1. The fee is $25 per player and includes T-shirt, trophy and Bible. Scholarships are available. For more information, call Dan Johnson at (859) 332-7698 or Phillip Coffman at (859) 238-9978.

Fundraiser to help soldiers' children

HARRODSBURG - Wilson Lending Group and Harrodsburg Kentucky National Guard Armory will have a fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday to benefit the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund.

The event, which includes lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and door prizes, will be at 102 S. Main St., across from Lawson's Jewelry. The grand prize is a 20-inch flatscreen TV.

The relief fund helps with utilities, rent, mortgage payment and Christmas, and benefits any child who has lost a parent in the war. Any veteran can take out a loan without any origination fees on that day.
