Editor's note: Boyle County Public Library is operating in its temporary location at 1857 S. Danville Bypass in the old ATR building across the street from the recycling center. The library closed Nov. 4 in order to vacate its Broadway Street building, which is being renovated and expanded. The project is expected to take about one year.
Dear Editor,
Congratulations to the Boyle County Public Library's staff and trustees for their careful planning and hard work in creating an outstanding temporary library facility. I knew the space would be functional, but I didn't expect everything to be so attractive.
With plenty of parking and all on one level, the library is accessible and easily utilized. There is a computer room, a Kentucky/reference room and a meeting room. There are study rooms and magazine/newspaper reading rooms. The card catalogs are spaced out for easy use throughout the library.
Most importantly, the library's friendly, helpful staff is on hand to cheerfully guide patrons as they make their way through initially unfamiliar territory. So, visit and use the new library. I know you'll be impressed, and I hope you'll share your appreciation with the dedicated Boyle County Library's staff.
