Modern Woodmen match McKinney fall festival proceeds

December 13, 2007

Members of the Stanford Modern Woodmen of America camp 12490 helped raise money for McKinney Elementary School by having their fall festival.

The event, held on Nov. 3, raised $5,000. This include $2,500 matched by Modern Woodmen's home office through the organization's Matching Fund program. The money will be used for smart boards for all the classrooms.

The matching fund program offers Modern Woodmen camp members nationwide the chance to show their support of a community cause, organization or individual in need by partnering with community organizations and holding fund-raisers. Modern Woodmen matches money raised up to $2,500. These fund-raising projects contribute more than $6 million to community needs nationwide each year.

Founded in 1883 as a fraternal benefit society, today Modern Woodmen of America offers financial services and fraternal member benefits to individuals and families throughout the United States. The organization's Stanford camp provides a number of volunteer service and social activities for local members.
