Police think incidents are connected

The Nicholasville Police Department is investigating two early morning robberies of convenience stores they feel were perpetrated by the same man.

The first incident occurred around 3 a.m. at the Circle K on Edgewood Drive, near the bypass.

The man asked the clerk to give him change for a dollar, and when the clerk opened the register, the man then demanded all the money.

"This person had a brief confrontation with the clerk there who refused to give him anything," NPD Maj. John Branscum said. "I don't think it was a physical confrontation, just verbal."

The man left the Circle K without any money.

Around 6 a.m. a man, matching the description of the person who attempted to hold up the Circle K, entered T-Mart on South Main Street, this time armed with a knife.

"He got away with an undisclosed amount of money," Branscum said.

According to a news release, the man was described as being very upset and aggressive and communicated his demands in a loud, angry voice.

There were no injuries at either location.

The man is described as a white male about 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall in his early to mid-20s with a thin build, about 130 to 140 pounds with sandy or dark colored hair.

"His cheek line was very thin, kind of sunk in even," Branscum said.

Witnesses at T-Mart said the man used a hoodie and possibly a scarf to hide much of his face.

Video footage at both locations was excellent, Branscum said, adding he is hopeful the footage will aid in the arrest of the suspect.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call the Nicholasville Police Department at 885-9467. The man is considered armed and dangerous.
