Kentucky State Police in Richmond are investigating human skeletal remains found in Estill County on Tuesday afternoon.
State Forensic Anthropologist Emily Craig said the remains have been there no longer than three months. The State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort will perform an autopsy.
The remains are of an adult male wearing blue jeans, a blue flannel shirt, a white T-shirt, a blue toboggan, red plaid boxer shorts and black shoes with white socks.
The cause of death, age and race of the remains have not been determined.
The remains were found in an unused cemetery from the 1800s, located behind the Bunt Gross Tire Service and the Oak Tree Inn on Ky. 52.
