Thelma Sebastian was awarded a Modern Woodmen of America Hometown Heroes Award by local members of the fraternal financial services organization on Monday, Dec. 11.

She was honored for many hours of volunteer service as a pink lady for the Fort Logan Hospital Auxiliary.

"Improving the quality of life for our members and their communities is Modern Woodmen's mission, and Thelma's volunteer service efforts do just that," says Dean Speaks, local Modern Woodmen camp secretary. The Hometown Heroes program helps us acknowledge and thank volunteers across the country."

Founded in 1883 as a fraternal benefit society, today Modern Woodmen of American offers financial services and fraternal member benefits to individuals and families throughout the United States. The organization's Stanford camp provides a number of volunteer service and social activities for local members.
