Two women rob Pioneer Marathon

January 10, 2008

Two women working as a team robbed Pioneer Marathon on Stanford Road at 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, Danville police said.

Officers said the clerk reported that one woman distracted her while the other reached into the register and stole the cash.

Police say the store security video shows two women going into the store, purchasing drinks and a quart of oil. Both then exited, but one returned and distracted the clerk while the other took cash from the register.

The women were got into a dark blue, four-door Kia, which had two small children in it, and fled the scene.

Police are looking for a "very skinny" white female, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, who was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with the letters BA on it. She was wearing blue jeans with holes and white shoes.

The second white female is described as "very chubby," 5 feet 2 inches tall, with brown hair and wearing glasses. She was wearing a black jacket or sweatshirt with Tim Burton's "Night Before Christmas" emblem on it, gray sweat pants or thin blue jeans and white shoes.

The vehicle was last seen heading north on Stanford Road toward Main Street.

Multiple officers from Danville Police Department, Boyle County Sheriff's Department and Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement searched the area while Officer Ricky Sellers investigated the robbery scene.

Sellers and Capt. Bob Williamson and Sellers are the investigating officers.
