Mildred H. (Midge) Gooch, 78, of the Boneyville community of Stanford, died Friday, January 18.
She was born April 25, 1929 to the late Hugh and Betty Helm. She accepted Christ at an early age under the Rev. Henry T. Garth. She served on the Usher board and in the kitchen and attended Sunday School in her early days.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Gooch; two brothers, Harrison and Joe Will Helm; three sisters, Clara Helm, Patty J. Smallwood and Roberta Bright; and one special nephew, Sylvester Helm.
Survivors include a sister, Viola Farmer of Ohio; special nephew, Hubert L. Helm of Stanford; special nieces, Pamela Norman Shannon of Ohio, and Chanell Helm of North Carolina; brother-in-laws, J.D. Gooch, Albert (Wilma) Gooch, Robert (Janie) Gooch, Ernest (Irene) Gooch and Clarence (Sue) Gooch; sister-in-laws, Pauline (Charles) Hunn and Mary V. Masterson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
