Ms. Barthenia Brown takes this time to say "thanks" to everyone that participated in the Dr. Martin Luther King celebration. Special thanks to Rev. Floyd Raglin and members of the First Missionary Baptist Church, all city officials, ministers, the keynote speaker, Mr. John Goodloe, and the Boneyville Baptist Church for the repass. May God continue to bless all of you.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Mrs. Mildred "Midge" Gooch, wife of the late Mr. James "Jimbo" Gooch. The funeral service was held last Friday at the Bethel AME Church, Boneyville.

Sympathy is also extended to the family of Mrs. Rachel McKinney Arnold, a former resident of Lincoln County (McKinney). She was a 1951 graduate of the former Lincoln High School. The funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Smith and Smith Funeral Home in Lexington.

Mr. Darryl Brown, son of Ms. Barthenia Brown has been dismissed from the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Theodore "Boot" Simpson has been released from the Fort Logan Hospital.

Mrs. Viola Helm Farmer and family of Cincinnati, Ohio, visited several relatives last week.

Mr. David Givens of Indianapolis, Ind., spent the day visiting with relatives and friends.

Mrs. Sara Givens, Miss Dionne Givens, D'Nai Givens and Damion Givens-Ford recently spent the weekend in Cincinnati, Ohio with Mr. and Mrs. Kelvin Givens and daughters, Kennedi and MacKenzie Givens.

Mr. and Mrs, Nicholas Hill and daughter, of Columbus, Ohio, spent the weekend with his mother, Ms. Sandra Hill.

Mr. Al Joseph Logan, Ms. Barthenia Brown, and Mrs. Sara Givens visited Mr. Charley Logan at the Richmond Manor Rest Home last Sunday.
