"We will be at Kroger in conjunction with 'project community outreach for seniors,' handing out free door hangers and filling out forms for seniors with information on how to be contacted if a disaster should occur," said Jim Talley, AARP chapter president.
"We will have some elected officials from our community there also for what we refer to as a meet-and-greet for seniors. State Rep. Mike Harmon will be there early in the morning to meet seniors before he heads to Frankfort for the legislative session."
The mayors of Danville and Perryville also will attend.
A letter will be available for seniors to sign asking the governor and legislators not to forget about senior funding for independent living or to cut senior services in this budget.
The letter will be hand-delivered to the governor' office, and copies will be given to legislators.
