Turbyfill to head community foundation

Alan Turbyfill, president, CEO, and chairman of the board of Kentucky Trust Company, will chair the Wilderness Trace Community Foundation (WTCF).

WTCF officers also include Garrard County Attorney Jeff Moss as vice chairman, and David Land of David Land Tax Service in Garrard County as secretary/treasurer.

Turbyfill follows the term of Phil Osborne, CEO of Preston-Osborne.

"Wilderness Trace Community Foundation donors last year granted over $146,000 to support the local causes and students they have identified. I look forward to leading our volunteer board in its mission to increase public awareness of the opportunities to further support our communities through charitable giving," said Turbyfill.

A founding director of Kentucky Trust Company and officer since 2001, Turbyfill is a 1983 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, a 1991 graduate with an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA). Turbyfill is past chair of the Danville/Boyle County Chamber of Commerce, past president of Heart of Kentucky United Way, treasurer of the Boyle County Industrial Foundation and a director of Ephraim McDowell Health.

WTCF board members also include Thomas A. Christopher, Hugh Coomer, Carol R. Conover, Jeannette Davis, Paul Elwyn, Julian L. Gander, Virginia Carol Hill, Charles Hurst Keiser, Phil Osborne, Janie Pass, Thomas R. Poland, and John R. Rodes.

The Wilderness Trace Community Foundation, an affiliate of The Community Foundation of Louisville, began in 2002 as the result of a study commissioned by the Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce. The local volunteer board of directors represents Boyle, Garrard, Mercer and Lincoln counties.

WTCF has committed assets of $2,347,811.
