Leonard G. Carrier, 82

Leonard G. Carrier, 82, of 114 Maplewood Drive, Lancaster, died Thursday, Feb. 7 at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington.

Born Jan. 13, 1926, he was the son of the late Jesse and Mattie Cobb Carrier. He was retired from Lexington Quarry, a World War II Army veteran serving from April 1944 to June 1946, a member of Lancaster Baptist Church and Lancaster Lodge #104 F&AM, and a Kentucky Colonel.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Ray.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Goins Carrier; one daughter, Peggy Foley of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Brian (Amy) Foley of Brodhead and Jamie (Kevin) Fields of Lancaster; three great grandchildren, Aidan and Gavin Foley and Hannah Fields; three brothers, Jessie (Nellie) Carrier, Jr. and OíNeal (Lois) Carrier both of Lancaster, and Harold (Betty) Carrier of Somerset; five sisters, Elsie Broaddus, Dorothy (Curtis) Grider both of Lancaster, Betty Edgington of Crab Orchard, Bertie Kirkpatrick of Danville, and Gladys (Donnie) Ray of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Feb. 11 at Ramsey Funeral Home in Lancaster with Bros. Bob Rush and Zach Terry officiating. Burial was in Lancaster Cemetery.

Nephews served as active pallbearers and the Ballard Men Sunday school class of Lancaster Baptist Church, Earl Foley, and Jack Goins served as honorary pallbearers.
