Drug dog pays for itself

February 27, 2008|JESSE OSBOURNE

Sheriff LeeRoy Hardin presented the Boyle County Fiscal Court a check for $4,847.63 Tuesday as reimbursement for Tjard, the drug dog the Fiscal Court helped purchase. The dog is now paid for in full.

The payment comes from work the dog has done related to cash and other seizures.

According to Hardin, the dog has been able to provide enough income to pay for its vet bills and other expenses.

"We appreciate that. You followed through on your commitment," County Judge-Executive Tony Wilder said.

Hardin reported the dog is healthy, active and efficient.
