The misdemeanor charges that Nicholasville's Gregory Taylor was originally jailed for last Friday are the least of his concerns, Jessamine County Jailer Cecil Moss said, following his escape.
Last Friday, Taylor bolted from the Jessamine County Detention Center, after being arrested for theft by unlawful taking, third-degree terroristic threatening and contempt of court.
The incident occurred just past 4 p.m. when Taylor was allowed to use the telephone in the downstairs booking area.
"They brought him out of the holding area to use the telephone, and he was waiting to see his pre-trial officer," Moss said. "When he was on the phone, the deputy was letting the pre-trial officer out of the door, and he knocked down the deputy and pre-trial officer and ran out of that door and then went out the front door."
As per policy, detention center officials notified the surrounding law enforcement agencies and the state department of corrections.
