Alfred M. Spry, husband of Katherine Joan Correll Spry died Wednesday, Feb. 20.
He was a retired insurance agent for Kentucky Central, ordained Deacon for the Southern Baptist Domination, member of Edgewood Baptist Church, a Mason, being a past Master of Lodge 160, a Gideon and a World War II Navy veteran.
Additional survivors are six children, Toddy and husband Lawson Whitt of Burgan, Jerry and wife Angela Spry of Lexington, Sandra and husband Gary Duncan and Bruce and wife Jackie Spry of Lexington, Joella and husband Stoney Tatman of Nicholasville, Mistee Spry of Louisville, nine grandchildren, Teresa, Donna, Tony, Lorra, Alan, Kitty, Nathan, Jenae, Donald, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and other family members.
Services were held 11:30 a.m. Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Sholar officiating. Burial followed in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation was from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Masonic services were 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Bearers were Nathan Spry, Alan and Tony Tatman, Doug Christian, Terry Bailey and Hunter Robbins-Tatman. Honorary Bearers were Stoner Tatman, Lawson Whitt and Hayden Robbins-Tatman. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
