Bertram receives promotion at Walmart

Wal-Mart announces that Stanford native Nick Bertram has been promoted to Regional Operations Support Director, serving the state of Ohio. Prior to this new position, Bertram was the Market Human Resources Manager for the Louisville-metro area, and previous to that as a store manager for a supercenter. He has risen through the ranks, joining the company as a part-time stocker while attending college.

In his new role, Bertram will report to the VP/Regional General Manager for Ohio, and will serve as a liaison between the home office and the field. He will have responsibility for change management, operations process improvement, and merchandising. This two year developmental assignment will prepare him for future leadership roles in the company.

Bertram is originally from Stanford, graduating from Lincoln County High School in 1998. He earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from Eastern Kentucky University in 2002, where he was elected student body president and served on the Board of Regents. He earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2005, and received national certification as a senior professional in Human Resources (SPHR) in 2007. He serves the community on the Board of Trustees for the Children's Hospital Foundation and on the Board of Directors of Little Flock Christian Academy.

His wife Jennifer, also an EKU graduate, is an occupational therapist with First Steps and in the Norton Healthcare System. They dedicate a great deal of their lives serving in various ministries through their church.
