Montgomery County vs. Mason County 10th Region finals at MCHS Arena

The Royals are headed to Rupp Arena.

Darius Miller scored 28 points and Trevor Setty added 21 to pace Mason. Miller also had 13 rebounds, including 10 on the defensive end.

Brandon Rash led the Indians had 16 and Blaine Stull punched in 15.

End of 3rd quarter: Mason 62, Montgomery 43

The Royals started pulling away behind the hot-shooting hand of guard Trevor Setty, who scored 14 points in the quarter and tallied his 1,000th career point with 4:15 left in the frame. Setty hit a trio of 3-pointers and had a three-point play.

The Indians got within 13 twice in the quarter, but couldn't get no closer.

Halftime:

Mason 37, Montgomery 22

In front of a standing-room only crowd here, Darius Miller is showing why he's one of the top candidates for Mr. Basketball. Miller scored 18 points in the first half, including a pair of dunks. Miller scored 11 in the second quarter as the Royals opened the quarter with a 17-4 run turning a 14-14 tie into a 31-18 lead.

Montgomery struggled from the field, making just eight shots from the field, including just two in the second frame.

Jordan Stephens leads the Indians with seven points, followed by Blaine Stull with six and Brandon Rash with five.

Ryan Hamm followed Miller with nine points off the bench for the Royals.

After first quarter:

Montgomery 14, Mason 14

Brandon Rash leads the Indians with five points. First quarter featured five lead changes and two ties.

Miller first five points of second quarter. Mason leads 19-14 6:56 left in first half.
