Jensen scheduled to perform at Edgewood Baptist

Gordon Jensen, a Christian music composer and performer, will be putting on a concert at Edgewood Baptist Church in Nicholasville at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 15. The concert is free and open to the public.

Bowen-Wells to speak at Wilmore Free Methodist

Surgeon Carol Bowen-Wells, M.D., of the Lexington Clinic's Center for Breast Care, will present "Keeping You Abreast," on Tuesday, March 18, from 6:45 to 9 p.m. at the Wilmore Free Methodist Church, located at 1200 Lexington Road in Wilmore. The program is free and open to women of all ages, including teens.

Dr. Bowen-Wells is passionate about women's breast health. A surgical oncologist specializing in breast surgery, she and the center's Breast Care Coordinator, Eleanor Broaddus, R.N., team up to bring the latest information about breast health, breast cancer screening, diagnostics, treatment alternatives, and the importance of early detection.

At the Center for Breast Care, Dr. Bowen-Wells works closely with a team of surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and medical and radiation oncologists to determine the best course of treatment for each patient. Broaddus, a certified nurse navigator, assists patients in scheduling appointments and coordinates communication between physicians and patients throughout their course of treatment.

"Keeping You Abreast" is sponsored by the Women's Ministries of Wilmore Free Methodist Church. Baby-sitting will be provided, and the evening will include light refreshments. For information, contact Pam Pepper at 223-7495 or peppers@windstream.net.

Upcoming events at Wilmore UMC

Wilmore United Methodist Church will have their Palm/Passion Sunday at 10:45 a.m. March 16, Holy Thursday, Seder Meal and Service at 6 p.m. March 20 and Easter Sunday Morning Worship service at 10:45 a.m. on March 23.

All of their Evening Services are at 5 p.m. at Wesley Village in the Wilmore Community Senior Center.

Wilmore Christian to hold Good Friday service

Wilmore Christian Church will hold Good Friday Community Service at noon on March 21. Sunrise service is will be at 7:30 a.m. March 23 in the LuceCenter parking lot (Asbury College). If it rains, the Sunrise service will be at Wilmore Presbyterian Church.

Two Journey to be on WLJC Hour

Two Journey The Kentucky Duo will be featured on the WLJC Hour Of Harvest TV in Beattyville at 7 p.m. March 14. They will also be a featured guest artist at the Center for Rural Development in Somerset at 7 p.m. March 15.
