Hazel Vaughn Hatter Moran, 76

Hazel Vaughn Hatter Moran, 76, of Hatter Road, Kings Mountain died Tuesday, March 11 at her home.

A native of Casey County, she was born Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1931 to the late Lewis Cash and Betty Allen Vaughn. She worked for 24 years at Cowdens in Lancaster, attended Mt. Olive Christian Church, and was the widow of Arlis "Mitch" Hatter and Paul Moran.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Gene Vaughn; and sisters, Lovie Buck, Rosie Lay, and an infant sister.

Survivors include a son, Michael (Teresa) Hatter of Kings Mountain; four daughters, Phyllis (Phillip) Harris of Cincinnati, Ohio, Marketta Woods (friend Sonny Tucker) of Liberty, Marilee (Greg) Monroe of Sunbright, Tenn., and Kathy (Steve) Kelley of Stanford; a brother Raymond Vaughn, of Richmond; a sister, Geraldine Meiners of Milford, Ohio; several step brothers and sisters; special caregivers, Jean Hatter, Shirley Brandenburg, June Sims, and Agnes Goforth; nine grandchildren Michelle Mosier, Nick Harris, Christy Fehr, Dennis Woods, Melissa Looney, Chris Johnson, Jodi Atwood, and Erin and Justin Kelley; and eight great grandchildren, Katelynn Harris, Mitchel and Daniel Mosier, Abigail and Austin Fehr, Autumn Woods, and Mariah and Jaycob Looney.

Funeral services were March 14 at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home in Waynesburg with Bro. Greg Powell and Rev. Michelle Mosier officiating. Burial was in KP Hall Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Mike Hatter, Greg Monroe, Steve Kelley, Phillip Harris, Justin Kelley, Dennis Woods, Nick Harris and Sonny Tucker. Honorary pallbearers were Jaycob Looney, granddaughters and great grandchildren.
