Tennis teams defeat Bourbon

PARIS - The George Rogers Clark High School tennis team notched a pair of wins to stay perfect on the season on Wednesday at Bourbon County.

In girls' singles, Kelsey Palmer (6-3, 6-2), Ginny Rush (6-0), Hannah Shear (6-1), Brennan English (6-0), Sarah Miller (6-0) and Caitlyn Easterling each won. In doubles, Shear-Miller (7-5), Alyshia Powell-Molly Steele (6-4), English and Taylor Kindred (6-1) each won in the 9-0 victory.

In an exhibition match, the doubles duo of Chelsea Estes and Kayla Harrison won, 6-4.

On the boys' side, Chase Kindred (4-6, 1-6) and Landon Sallee (0-6) each lost, while Austin Norton (6-1), Taylor Graham (6-4), Tyler Montgomery (6-2) and Justin Penticuff (6-3) each were each victorious.

In doubles, Norton-Graham (1-6, 0-6) lost, followed by wins from Chad Griffith-Jacob Walson (6-4) and Montgomery and Logan Martin (6-1).

It was the boys' first win over the Colonels in five years.
