Earth Day event to include free shredding

The Danville/Boyle County Earth Day event will be 9 a.m.-noon Saturday and will include free shredding at the Wal-Mart parking lot by the U.S. 127 entrance.

Weapons classes set

Gardening demonstration planned

Lowe's of Danville Container Gardening Project will be 11 a.m. May 2 at Lincoln County Senior Citizen Center. Performing the demonstration will be master gardener Mary Lois Nardin of Hustonville, assisted by master gardener Nell Manning of Stanford.

Hospital gets new phone number

STANFORD - Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital recently announced that it has a new telephone number because of technical issues that could not be resolved once the hospital moved to the new facility at 110 Metker Trail. The new number is (606) 365-4600.

Mike Jackson, president of Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, explained that the phone number used at the hospital's former site worked until call volume increased, and then the number stopped accepting calls. Workers with AT&T were unable to resolve the problem, so the only recourse was to begin using a new number.
