Elizabeth Caudill: July 23, 1923 - April 27, 2008

Elizabeth Lee Caudill, 84, of Vince Road., died Sunday, April 27, at Royal Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness. A native of Lee County she was born July 23, 1923, to the late Enos and Mertie Belle Hall Congleton. She was the widow of Hubert L. Caudill who died in 2007. Elizabeth was a homemaker, farmer, and business woman who helped sell produce with her husband on U.S. 27 for many years. She was a member of Providence Christian Church. She is survived by her son, Herbert Marshall and his wife Martha Caudill, of Nicholasville and daughter, Rita and her husband William E. Harrison, of Lexington, one sister, Nancye Stamper, of Beattyville, one brother, Luther Congleton, of Booneville, six grandchildren, Robin East Arvin, Kimberly Caudill, Mary Caudill, Tara and husband Andrew Archer, Martin David Caudill, and Marshall Caudill, friend, Jennifer Draime, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Johns officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at the funeral home. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Royal Manor Nursing Home for the compassionate care they provided to Elizabeth and the family during her stay.
