Palmer falls in semis

GEORGETOWN - Kelsey Palmer saw her successful singles stint come to an end in the semifinals of the 10th Region Tournament Wednesday.

Palmer lost to Carrie Laskey 4-6 and 0-6 in the semifinals. As a consolation, Palmer will advance to next week's state tournament at Berea College.

It marks the third year in a row Clark will send a player to the state event.

As a team, the Lady Cardinals, who went undefeated during the regular season, finished second for the first time since 1981.

In other matches, Chase Kindred lost to Richard Canelas of Highlands (2-6, 1-6), while Landon Sallee lost to Joseph Glass of Bourbon County (0-6, 0-6).

In doubles, Austin Norton and Taylor Graham lost to Jeff Glass and Jordan Evans (Bourbon County) by the score of 1-6 and 3-6.
