Little League Roundup

The White Sox scored the game-winning run in the top of the eighth-inning to cap a successful comeback in a 2-1 win over the Red Sox Saturday at Lykins Park.

The White Sox trailed 1-0 going into the top of the sixth but scored a run to force extra innings.

Derek McKenzie and Brent Stoneking combined on a three-hitter and 17 strikeouts, with McKenzie fanning 12 batters in six innings of work.

McKenzie laced a double, while Wade Crowe and Stoneking each had single.

Christian Cooke and Tyler Mullins limited the White Sox to just three hits and collected 18 strikeouts. Cooke had 12 of those in four and two-thirds of an inning of work.

Malik Warner had two singles for the Red Sox.

Major League

Cubs 4, Mets 3

The Cubs scored three runs in the fifth inning and held on to beat the Mets .

Justus Ellis and Blake Cartwright doubled up on a three-hitter, while Ellis fanned nine batters. Luke Sharrock and Ellis each had a single and a double.

Quinn Beasley went the distance for the Mets and had seven strikeouts. Evan Towles laced a double at the plate.

Dodgers 12, Braves 1

The Dodgers banged out 10 hits, while pitchers Aaron Parrish and Joey Harper limited the Braves to two hits. Parrish, the starter, had eight strikeouts.

Caleb Mohr led the Dodgers with three hits, followed by Parrish and Elijah Mohr with two apice.

J.P. Satterwhite and Halen Hansel each had a single for the Braves.

Tigers 7, Yankees 2

Justin Howard and Skylar True combined on a one-hitter and fanned 10 batters to pace the Tigers, who broke open a close game with four runs in the sixth inning.

Justin Howard paced the Tigers with a pair of singles, while Brandon Barber had a triple and Thomas Berry laced a double.

Drew Howard had the Yankees' lone hit with a single in the first inning, while starter Clay Glover had a six strikeouts.

Little League Softball

Cardinals 14, Tigers 1

The Cardinals scored five runs in each of the middle two innings to beat the Tigers.

Hanna Wagner, Ashlie Branham, Haley Pinson, Jessica Neal and Haleigh Snapp paced the Cards with three hits each, with Pinson lacing a double.

Junior League Softball

Mariners 17, White Sox 2

The Mariners crossed the plate nine times in the first inning to set the tone.

Ashley Taylor led the Mariners with four singles, followed by Ashley Calvert, Sara Gayheart, Grace Wise and Rachel Everman with three each.

Kaitlyn Travis had a single for the White Sox.

Minor League

Timber Rattlers 13, Bulls 2

The Timber Rattlers scored three runs in the first inning and tacked on five more in the fifth in the double-digit win.

Caleb Brown, Gregory Meadows and Brent Connor each had a double for the Rattlers.

Luke Mansfield and Jake Vaughn paced the Bulls with one single each.

Sidewinders 10, Storm 5

The Sidewinders doubled up the score with five runs in the last two innings.

Gerald Banks led the Sidewinders with a double, followed by Thomas Banks and Brianna Taulbee with one hit each.

Robbie Wise and Evan Wright each had a single for the storm.

Junior League

Giants 21, Yankees 17

The Giants scored nine times in the fourth inning to hang on for the win.

Chase Austin led the way for the Giants with a single and a double, followed by Hunter Staton and Zach Allen with two singles each. Dylan Hatton added a triple.

Isaac Mohr led the Yanks with four singles, followed by Jensen Hisle with two singles.

Braves 8, Reds 0

Tyler Martinez went the distance for the Braves, who crossed the plate with four runs in the fifth inning.

Michael Pica and A.J. Springate paced the Braves' offense with two hits each.

Rookie League

A's 18, Yankees 8

The A's scored five runs in three of four innings played to beat the Yankees.

Isiah Williams hit a home run and led the A's with three hits. Maranda Delgado also pitched in with three hits.

Tori Mohr and Ethan Huff led the Yankees with three hits each.

Major League

Mets 4, Braves 3

The Mets opened with a pair of runs in the first and scored the game-winner in the sixth.

Bryce Stephens had a single and a double for the Mets, while Towles had nine strikeouts in four and one-thirds of an inning on the mound.

Jacob Omohundro collected three hits and Caleb Stidham had 11 strikeouts for the Braves.

Dodgers 8, Reds 3

The Dodgers scored four times in the first to set the tone.

Mohr and Nate Dent had a single and a double, while Brooks Harrison had a pair of singles for the Dodgers.

Mohr and Harrison scattered four hits and combined for eight strikeouts.

Caleb Chanslor had two singles for the Reds.

Little League Softball

Marlins 10, Cardinals 0

Erin Carrus had three hits for the Marlins, who scored four runs in the third inning.

Skye Skinner, Bryah Campbell and Stephanie Pica had two singles each for the Marlins.

Snapp laced a single in the first inning for the Cardinals.

Minor League

Bats 6, Redwings 5

The Bats scored two runs in the second and third innings to beat the Redwings.

Andrew Clarke and Travis Cobison paced the Bats with one hit each.

Aaron Phillips had a double for the Redwings.

The Tigers scored five runs in each of the first four innings.

Will Marsilett had four hits, while Cameron Hembree added three for the Tigers.

Alex Feltner had four hits for the White Sox.

The Red Sox scored five times in each of the three innings played.

Connor Gray and Jake Ware each had a single and a home run for the Red Sox.

Jeremy Groves had a single to lead the Tigers.
