Alice Mae Perkins- Spurlock, 89, of West Brown, died Thursday May 15, at Harrodsburg Health Care

A native of Jessamine County, she was born July 28, 1918, to the late Henry and Minnie Perkins. She was the widow of Jay Spurlock who died in 1980. She was a member of Nicholasville Baptist Church and had been an employee of the Jessamine County Board of Education in the middle school cafeteria where she enjoyed many years of being with the children.

Survivors include her brother, Edward and wife Dolly Perkins, sisters-n-law Lillian Perkins, and Frances Perkins, special niece Cheryl Jones and her daughter Natalie Durham, and her children that Alice always called "her boys" Justin and Payton Durham, along with numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers Henry, J. D. , and Chester Perkins. The family would like to acknowledge the kindness given to her by Amanda Bishop, Jamie Johnson, and Lois Williams who were her nurses at Harrodsburg Health Care.

Services were held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, burial in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Paul Douglas Ketron, Elmo Spurlock, Wayne Perkins, Kenneth Gregory, Dale and Justin Durham. Honorary bearers were Mike and Louise Hurt, Donna Hammonds, Tony Moffett, Ed Fuller, Teddy Reynolds, James D. Perkins, and E. J. and Sissy Presley.
