Dear Editor,
I am very disappointed that the Great American Brass Band committee eliminated a tradition (Olympia Brass Band) for a new face (Jack Brass) on their 2008 schedule.
Sure, the musicians have changed over the years, but it is still the Olympia Brass Band from New Orleans that has been with the festival since day one. It is nice to showcase bands that we've not seen before, but old friends with this much history should still be invited to participate in the festival. Did the committee make the right decision? We will find out soon enough.
