Bro. Aaron's message on Sunday was there is "Joy in Contentment," and he took his text from Philippians 4:10-23. He said, "Contentment is learned, not learned." Bro. Aaron said that even in all his perils, Paul was content in the Lord because he knew "God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus."

Our Sunday evening worship service was centered around the mission trip to Mexico. The last week of May, twelve people flew to Naco, Mexico to work for one week with an orphanage there. Their main project for this trip was to build a concrete wall around the orphanage that houses 16 children who live there year round. While there they also worked with a Vacation Bible School and a church about 25 miles south of Naco. Those who went on the trip are as follows: Doug, Lisa and Caleb Ruckel, Kathy Estes, Kayla Adington, Bro. Aaron, Bro. Andy, Judy Jacobs, Judy Whitaker, Mike Bastin, Julia Sullivan, and Charlotte Abel. All reported a very good, humbling, and rewarding trip, and a total of five young men were saved. How awesome is that!!!

We were saddened to hear that Stanley Cornett passed away Saturday morning. His visitation was at the church Monday evening, and his funeral was Tuesday morning. Our sympathy goes out to the Cornett family.

There was a household shower for Byron Daulton Wall and Jessica Stewart Galloway Sunday evening at 5 p.m. Byron and Jessica will be married June 21 at 5:30 p.m. The reception will be in Somerset immediately following the wedding.

Pleasant View will be having a baby dedication on Sunday, June 15 during the Sunday morning service.

We will be doing our Vacation Bible School snacks a little differently this year. Since we will not be serving our usual cookie and kool-aid, a donation to help purchase food would be appreciated. You can give your donation to Bro. Kerry or Kay Hensley by Sunday, June 22. Vacation Bible School will begin Monday, June 23 and run through June 27. A fellowship and picnic in the fellowship hall will conclude the Vacation Bible School week, and this will be on Sunday night, June 29. The theme for the Bible school is "Outriggers' Island."

Congratulations to the following on their graduations last week: from Lincoln County High School Ryan Young, Lindsay Jones, Tyler Fish, and Lucas Harris; from Tates Creek High School, Lauren Brooke Smith (Carlos and Helen Leigh's granddaughter); and Charlotte Abel from the University of the Cumberlands.

Thought for the week: "You can't change the past, but you can ruin the present by worrying over the future."
