Suspect sought in Danville burglary and assault

June 25, 2008

Danville police said a man with a protective order against him allegedly kicked in the door of a woman's house early this morning and assaulted her.

About 4:30 a.m., police received a report of a burglary in progress at 218 E. Erskine Drive. Minutes later while responding to the call, police received notification from the victim, Chelsea E. Christison, 20, that the perpetrator, Jeffrey E. Guest, 19, of 103 Balasa Drive, Apt. 54, had entered her house and a disturbance was in progress. Guest is the father of Christison's child.

Christison ran outside when police arrived, yelling to officers that Guest had run to the back of the house. Police searched the property and surrounding streets but couldn't find him.

Further inspection revealed the front door had been kicked in and severely damaged. Christison alleged that Guest poked her in the eye, resulting in injury.

Later while police were still at the residence, Guest called Christison's cell phone. Officers spoke with Guest, informing him that he would be charged.

Guest, however, declined to turn himself in, and warrants were filled out for fourth-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischef, violation of a domestic violence order, and first-degree burglary.

Later this morning, Assistant Police Chief Tom Bustle said discussions were under way with Guest to turn himself in.
