Ralph L. Estes, 84

Ralph L. Estes, 84, of Hwy 27 South, Stanford, died Saturday, June 28 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

A native of Lincoln County, he was born Jan. 13, 1924 to the late Lester and Mollie Ellen Addington Estes. He was a retired school teacher, having taught over 30 years in Bracken County, Kings Mountain Memorial and then Lincoln County High School, was past president of the Kentucky Educational Association, a tobacco farmer and enjoyed woodworking.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Cyrus Marvin Estes; and a sister, Ruby Faye Samples.

Survivors include his wife, Velma Gourley Estes; son, Lindon W. (Nancy) Estes of Danville; daughter, Monica E. (Jerry) Frady of Madisonville, Tenn.; brother, James A. (Peggy) Estes of Lexington; and three grandchildren, Tiffany and Marc Frady of Madisonville, Tenn., and Crystal Estes Ellis of Danville.

Funeral services were July 1, at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home in Waynesburg with Bro. Chester Cornett officiating. Burial was in Double Springs Cemetery.
