Business license revoked

The Winchester Licensing Board voted Monday to revoke the business license of Robert Allen Johnson of Washington Street Liquors due to none payment of fees and taxes. The business is not permitted to operate until applicable licenses are again in force.

Kentucky Bank and Big Brothers/Big Sister hosting cookout

Kentucky Bank and Big Brothers/Big Sisters are hosting a cookout from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kentucky Bank on the corner of Colby Road and the Bypass.

The event is in support of Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and will include hot dogs, chips and drinks, courtesy of Kentucky Bank. Lunch is free, but the purchase of a $5 raffle in the upcoming Duck Blast for Cash, held at Applebee's Park, would be appreciated.

Raffle prizes include: $5,000; a suite at Applebee's Park during a future legends game set up for 20 people; a regional restaurant dine-around in Lexington; a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses; a night on the town in Lexington, featuring dinner, entertainment and lodging; and more.

The event will be Aug. 7 at Applebee's Park directly after the baseball game. Several "lucky ducks" will be drawn for prizes, but the winners do not need to be present to win.

Kentucky Bank-Kim Niman Memorial Fund

Kentucky Bank has established a memorial fund in honor of friend and co-worker, Kim Niman, to benefit her sons.

Niman raised two sons, Chad and Blake Niman. Chad, age 20, is attending Bluegrass Community College and resides in Lexington. Blake, age 18, will be a senior at Harrison County High School and is an avid football player.

Contributions may be made to Kentucky Bank-Kim Niman Memorial Fund at any of Kentucky Bank's ten locations: Cynthiana, Georgetown, Morehead, Nicholasville, North Middletown, Paris, Sandy Hook, Versailles, Wilmore and Winchester. Contributions may also be mailed to Kentucky Bank, P.O. Box 157, Paris, KY 40362-0157.
