Inspiration Point: It's a miracle -- Columnist publishes inspirational book

July 11, 2008|RICK LELAND

I held the book up in my hand, saying to Phillip, "This is a miracle." Then I turned to the chapter: "Facing the Giants." A story about Phillip. Examining the book, he said, "Wow this is great!"

He agreed - a miracle.

With great affection, I looked at my 17-year-old friend knowing I was talking to a miracle.

Seven days earlier, Phillip had experienced God's greatest miracle. Every other Tuesday a group of teenagers gather in our basement family room. My friend John was the guest Bible teacher for the evening. His words had been especially engaging for Phillip.

As John wrapped up his talk, Phillip interjected one last question. It reminded me of words from the book of Acts: "What must I do to be saved?" Phillip point-blank asked John what he needed to do to become a follower of Jesus Christ.

With all the other teenagers watching, Phillip experienced his miracle. He prayed to make Jesus the lord of his life.

The other miracle? The book I was showing Phillip. My first book: "Inspiration Point ... Living the God Imprinted Life."

When I look at it, this scripture comes to mind: "Look ... watch and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told." I'm actually beyond amazed. This book, now a hold-in-your-hand-reality, is a miracle.
