This week, the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society is having a special on kitten adoption:"Two-Fur-One!" With many kittens available, the Humane Society has decided to spread the love with a special adoption rate. The fee for adopting regularly is $75, but for a short period of time the shelter will send them home two for $75 or one for $38. The price includes spay/neutering, first shots, worming, a blanket and a voucher for a rabies vaccine.
Also, volunteers at the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society and employees from Lowe's Home Improvement in Danville joined forces to construct two cat condominiums at the humane society.
The condos provide a communal dwelling area for as many as eight cats, and they offer a less stressful environment for the cats while they await adoption. Each condo is equipped with hammocks, a view of the outdoors, and interesting places to play and hide.
Potential adopters can enter the condos and interact with the cats in order to gain an understanding of each feline's personality. All of the materials for the project were donated by Lowe's.
