July 17, 2008

Sarah Elizabeth Rowe, a senior at Lincoln County High School, attended the Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders (IFAL), held June 22-26 on the University of Kentucky campus.

IFAL is a five-day summer leadership conference that exposes students to college life and explores different fields of study for careers in agriculture.

The conference included leadership classes and speakers, team-building activities and visits to research farms and agriculture-related industries.

Participants were selected by their county Farm Bureau board of directors with the assistance of school personnel and youth group advisors. Selected students are among the top in their class who plan to further their education at the post-secondary level and have an interest in pursing a career in agriculture.

Rowe was selected as the local IFAL conference representative by the Lincoln County Farm Bureau Federation.

Rowe is the daughter of Mark and Janet Rowe. She is involved in FFA and 4-H.
