Planners to hold joint meeting

The Nicholasville Planning Commission and the Jessamine County-Wilmore Joint Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 12 to consider adopting the statement of goals and objectives for a proposed county-wide comprehensive plan.

Including input from two public meetings held on July 7 and July 9, the Jessamine County Comprehensive Plan Update Development Committee has finalized a Statement of Goals and Objectives.

This statement will be considered for adoption at a joint meeting of the Nicholasville Planning Commission and the Jessamine County-Wilmore Joint Planning Commission at the meeting. Any interested county resident is invited to attend the meeting, to be held at the Jessamine County Circuit Court Room, located on the second floor of the Jessamine County Courthouse at 101 N. Main Street in Nicholasville.

The Statement of Goals and Objectives will become the basis of the Jessamine County Comprehensive Plan update currently underway. It includes county-wide goals regarding:

â?¢ Economic and commercial development

â?¢ Residential development

â?¢ Transportation

â?¢ Infrastructure and community facilities

â?¢ Environment and tourism and historic preservation.

Once the Planning Commissions have adopted the statement, it will be further presented to the Nicholasville City Commission, the Jessamine County Fiscal Court and the Wilmore City Council for final adoption, on dates to be determined.
