Two indicted on illegal drug charges in Garrard

LANCASTER - Curtis Lee Stone, 20, and James Alan Peters, 33, both of Lexington, are charged on three counts of possession of illegal drugs, according to Garrard Circuit Court documents. The alleged offenses occurred May 26.

Stone was indicted July 18 for possession of marijuana and first-degree possession of cocaine, a schedule II controlled substance.

Peters is charged with first-degree possession of cocaine and driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Summons were issued for Stone and Peters.

Deputy Sheriff Keith Addison was the grand jury witness.

Two others indicted are:

* Wendell Asberry, address unavailable, flagrant nonsupport. He allegedly failed to pay more than $1,000 in child support. His bond is $10,000 cash. Beverly Ray was the grand jury witness.

* Anthony Elam, 30, 104A Kinnard Ave., first-degree possession of a controlled substance. He is accused of possessing Methadone, a schedule II controlled substance. His bond is $10,000 cash. Deputy Sheriff Willie Skeens was grand jury witness.

All are scheduled for arraignment 9 a.m. Aug. 15 in Garrard Circuit Court.
