Boyle Middle school sets orientation

Boyle County Middle School will have sixth grade orientation 5:30-7 p.m. today. Informal sessions will be offered for students and parents concerning the school along with opportunities to find out about bus routes, transportation, lunch program, PTO, library media center and to pay $40 school fees.

Correction

Frances Simpson was the daughter of the late Grand and Gracie Wilkerson Simpson. This information was incorrect her obituary in the Sunday edition of The Kentucky Advocate.

Bunning to speak at chamber luncheon

HARRODSBURG - U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning, R-Ky., will be in Harrodsburg at noon Aug. 20 to address the audience at the Mercer Chamber of Commerce quarterly luncheon at Lions Park Community Center on Factory Street. He will speak on the U.S. economy and provide a legislative update.

Advance tickets are $10 and are available through the chamber office by calling (859) 734-2365 or e-mailing info@mercerchamber.com. Tickets also will be available at the door for $15.
