Downtown street dance

WINCHESTER - There'll be dancing in the streets of Winchester as the Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival kicks offs with a street dance on Main Street in front of the courthouse. Music will be provided by local performers John Curtis and Lauren Mink, as well as Atlanta-based performers the Tams, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Start the weekend enjoying a favorite downtown event right here in Winchester.

Fashion show

WINCHESTER - The Winchester Labor Day Committee is sponsoring a fashion show as part of the Labor Day festivities. Uniquness Unlimited models will star in the show, which begins at 7 p.m. at the Wainscott Building on Wainscott Avenue. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Jason Michael Carroll and Luke Bryan perform

WINCHESTER - The Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival winds down on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. with a concert by country musicians Jason Michael Carroll and Luke Bryan at Lykins Park. Gates open at 4 p.m., and admission is $5. It is an outdoor park, so you will need to bring your own blanket or lawn chair. The evening will end with fireworks by Zambelli International.

Paper albums at ArtWorks

GEORGETOWN - Ann House will teach a course in making paper albums for two hours at ArtWorks, 800 Cincinnati Pike in Georgetown, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Participants are asked to bring photos of a special event, friend or activity. The album comes with an envelope so it can be mailed as a gift. There is a $20 fee, and the class is open to anyone over age 5. From more information, call (502) 867-0060.

Fall Story Time at Paris-Bourbon County Library

CLAY CITY - The annual bluegrass festival at Meadowgreen Park begins today and lasts until Saturday, Sept. 6. LEXINGTON - Every Monday evening, join Michael Johnathon and guests for a taping of Kentucky's only live syndicated radio show. Audience seating is between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m., with the show beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 with a student I.D. The concerts are at the Kentucky Theatre, 214 E.
