Circuit clerk Hunt honored
Circuit Clerk David Hunt likes a good laugh, and last night the joke was on him. The circuit clerk, country musician, volunteer, community leader and cancer survivor was "roasted" in a surprise tribute at the Victory Heights Center for Achievement, and the gymnasium at the center was named for him.
History museum to feature music
American roots music will be featured at the Bluegrass Heritage Museum this fall, and next Thursday's program will be on a Clark County composer, the late John Jacob Niles. Dr. Ron Pen, director of the John Jacob Niles Center for American Music at the University of Kentucky, will be the featured speaker. Also, in T.G.I.F., the Sun will have information on the museum's Main Affair on Sept. 20 to launch the Smithsonian exhibit on American museum, "New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music."
