Military announcements for Sept. 7

Air Force

Staff Sgt. Brian T. Cool recently was selected for promotion to technical sergeant. Cool has seen extensive duty in Europe and the Middle East and currently is assigned to Hill Air Force Base in Utah, where he lives with his wife, Nicky, and sons, TreShawn and Jordan. He has assumed the position of non-commission officer in charge of readiness for the 729th Air Control Squadron.

Cool is the son of retired Lt. Colonel and Mrs. Jack Shepherd of Danville. He also has a son, Dakota Mullins, who lives in Danville. He is a graduate of Boyle County High School.

Army

Army Sgt. Joshua C. Beebe has arrived for duty at the Army Recruiting Station in Traverse City, Mich., a unit of the Army Great Lakes Recruiting Battalion in Michigan.

Beebe, a recruiter, has served in the military for five years.

He is the son of Patricia J. Meyers of South Buell Street in Perryville. His wife, Amanda, is the daughter of Betty and Danny Anderson of Orrum, N.C.

The sergeant is a 2002 graduate of Pine River High School in Leroy, Mich.
