Jewell Irene Poynter Hudson, 80, widow of Ernest William "Jack" Hudson, died Saturday, Sept. 20. She was born Sept. 27, 1927 in Somerset to the late Albert and Betty Denny Poynter.
Survivors are 10 children, Tekita Lee and husband James Hall, Mildred Joyce and husband Denver Shuman, Ernest Lee and wife Sheila Hudson, Peggy Irene and husband Johnny McCollum, Lois Jean and husband Lawrence Tillit, Billy Wayne and wife Linda Hudson, Jackie Marie and husband Jerry Graves, Susan Beatrice Merriman, Stephan William and wife Debbie Hudson and Robert Ricky and wife Tammy Hudson, 21 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and other family members.
Services were held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Chaplin Jim Harrison officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation was Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Bearers were Ernest, Billy Wayne, Stephan William, Robert Rickey, Johnthon and Justin Hudson. Contributions suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
