Ben "Benny" William Gabbert, Jr., 63

Ben "Benny" William Gabbert, Jr., 63, of Waynesburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 16 at his residence.

A native of Lexington, he was born Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1944 to the late Ben W. and Helen Broaddus Gabbert. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelors degree in animal science, was a farmer, employed as a feed salesman and territory representative of Burkmann Mills, an avid UK sports fan, and an active member of Waynesburg PTO, Lincoln County Cattleman's Association, and St. Mildred's Catholic Church in Somerset.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Smith Gabbert of Waynesburg; one daughter, Nicole Leigh (Larry) Walls of Waynesburg; two brothers, Ronald Dean (Sharon) Gabbert and Edward L. (Rosie) Gabbert, both of Williamstown; a sister, Alice Jane (Buddy) Ingram of Dry Ridge; and two grandchildren, Carly Elizabeth and Steven Thomas Walls.

Funeral services were Sept. 20 at St. Mildred's Catholic Church in Somerset with Father Patrick Stewart officiating. Burial was in Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg.

Active pallbearers were Dillon Ingram, Vince, Matthew, and Jason Gabbert, Greg Taylor, Dale Isaacs, and Carly and Steven Walls. Honorary pallbearers were the employees of Burkmann Feed.

Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home of Waynesburg was in charge of the arrangements.
