REVIVALS

Friendship Baptist Church - 7 p.m. Thursday through Oct. 5. Speakers include Tony Stevens on Thursday, Stacy Wilson on Oct. 3 and Raymond Long on Oct. 4-5. McKinney Christian Church - 7 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday. The revival begins Sunday with the morning service. Phil Curry of Tennessee will speak. He is a former pastor of Mount Moriah Christian Church.

PRAYER MEETING

Infusion Ministries - 5 p.m. Saturday for a communitywide prayer meeting at Millennium Park. Speaker and author Juan Otero of Nashville will talk, along with missionary Tiffany Harris, who has spent the past four years in the mission field in Israel. Ellisburg Baptist Church - 6 p.m. Sunday, a gospel concert will feature the Coffey family. The church is on Ky. 78 in northern Casey County.

Perfect Peace Ministry will have its last scheduled Gospel Caravan 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at Gardenside Christian Church, 940 Holly Springs Drive, Lexington. Guest singers will be The Hilltop Trio; The Patriots Quartet; Narrow Road (a Bluegrass gospel band); The Master's Servants Quartet; Saving Grace 111; Joe Bob and Wilma Grider; soloist/saxophonist Gary Nelson leading the Gardenside Band; comedian/soloist Kenny Speakes; and the Gospel Caravan Choir under the direction of soloist Carol Watson. MEN'S AND WOMEN'S DAY

First Baptist Church - 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday for Men's and Women's Day. The Rev. Frank W. Houston, pastor of First Baptist Church, Georgetown, will speak. Dinner will be served at the church on Second and Walnut streets.

CHURCH GIVE-AWAY

New Salem Baptist Church - 9 a.m. Saturday, the church will have a free market, where people can take home items of their choice free of charge. The church is at 10680 Ky. 698, Lincoln County, and promises something for everybody.

Three-day community event to begin

HARRODSBURG - The Mercer County Community for Transformation committee and Mercer Ministerial Association will sponsor a three-night Community Transformation Celebration at the Ninth Grade Academy Auditorium on East Lexington Street. The celebration, which is the fourth event in the summer series, will take place 7 p.m. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

The speaker on Sunday and Monday will be Dr. Michael Gatton, senior minister at Hurstbourne Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Louisville. Gatton has been an ordained minister for 35 years and has served in churches across Kentucky. He is a former high school teacher and coach and speaks at national and state youth events. He has been named Volunteer of the Year in Marshall and Pulaski counties and was founder of the Agape Gang Youth Mission Team. He earned a master in divinity from Louisville Seminary and a doctorate in ministry from Vanderbilt University.

The speaker on Tuesday will be Pete Toth, senior pastor at Lighthouse Assembly of God in Harrodsburg. Toth, who has been serving at the Lighthouse Assembly since 1988, previously was a youth pastor at Bethel Assembly of God in Lexington, where he also served as a Sunday School teacher and director of Christian education. Toth began his ministry work in Harrodsburg at Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God (now Lighthouse Assembly of God).
