WINCHESTER POLICE

Charged

- Jerry Griffith, 33, of 207 Mutual Ave., was charged Monday with theft by unlawful taking.

Reports

At 4:16 p.m. Monday, employees at Wal-Mart reported having a suspected shoplifter in custody. Store loss prevention officials accused Jerry Griffith of taking a hat from a shelf, removing the tag and wearing it out of the store without paying for it. Griffith was charged with theft by unlawful taking.

CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF

Charged

- William Everman III, 31, of 2634 Two Mile Road, was charged Tuesday with intimidating a witness and was served with a warrant.

- David C. Marcum, 47, of 36A Winn Ave., was charged Tuesday with second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

- Michael S. Faulconer, 34, of Mount Sterling, was charged Tuesday with reckless driving, failure to produce an insurance card and driving under the influence of an intoxicant.

- Victoria G. McColpin, 31, of Mount Sterling, was charged Tuesday with alcohol intoxication, first-degree promoting contraband and tampering with physical evidence.

Reports

- At noon Tuesday, Sara C. Smith of Lexington reported that her checks were stolen in 2006, but she did not make a report at the time. She was recently notified by the Clark County Attorney's Office that a check for $802.65 was written on that account. Forgery reports were completed.

WINCHESTER FIRE-EMS

- On Tuesday, emergency personnel conducted two local transfers and four out-of-town transfers. They also responded to four general medical calls, three respiratory cases, one seizure, two falls, one cardiac case and one engine assist.

CLARK COUNTY FIRE

- At approximately 7 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to an illegal burn on Log Lick Road.
