Greetings from South Fork Baptist Church! I begin by saying that our church is saddened by the loss of one of our church members. Bro. Rod Burton passed away on Tuesday morning at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center after a valiant fight with cancer. Rod was my friend, my neighbor and church member. Please be sure to say a prayer for his family as they grieve his passing.
Our Sunday school attendance is holding steady. We had 39 for Bible study this past Sunday morning. 64 were in attendance for our morning worship service. On Sunday night we had 51 attending.
My messages for this past Sunday came out of the book of John. I reminded the people of the person of Jesus, the power of Jesus, and the provision of Jesus. Jesus was there in the beginning with God the Father. He also exhibited His power in creation, and became God's provision for humanity. Have you experienced Him? Have you accepted God's provision for your life? Have you trusted in Him to be your personal Savior? I know that many of you that read my article can say a very hardy "amen" to that question, but sadly some of you might not be able to do so. I invite you to really consider Jesus as a part of your life. I urge you not to simply have a knowledge of Him in your head, but allow Him to "lodge" in your heart. If you need to know how to take Him as your Savior please contact me so I can help you.
