Clark Regional Auxiliary conducts October meeting

The monthly executive and general meetings of the Clark Regional Medical Center Auxiliary were held Monday, Oct. 13 at CRMC.

Auxiliary members and staff members present were: Betty Ballard, Earlene Barnett, Julia Boggs, Madeline Bumgardner, Charlene Clark, Jim Clay, Bob Cowen, Judy Crowe, Linda Crowe, Mary George DeVary, Sharon Goble, Mollie Griffith, Phyllis Hanks, Audrey King, Mildred Gallaher, Sylvia Green, Ann Hall, Bob Jackson, David Nehls, Gerri Osborne, Ruth Patton, Charlotte Phillips, Martha Shearer, Dana Spalding, Shirley Stone, Anna Ray Street, Anna Ruth Street, Edna Taulbee, Jean Vaughn, Rosemary Walker, Opiedell Wheeler, Carolyn Wiggins and Raymond Wilson.

Brian Thomas, County Attorney, presented a program on identity theft. Packages of this presentation will be distributed at the November meeting. Those unable to attend the November meeting can pick up copies at the front lobby or the sign-in/out desk.

Carolyn Wiggins distributed the September minutes. Martha Shearer presented September financials. Martha reminded everyone who had not paid their dues to do so as soon as possible. Audrey King reported 1,237.5 hours were worked by 64 volunteers in September and 10,266.5 year-to-date hours worked.

Charlotte Phillips was introduced as a new volunteer and she gave a brief distribution of her role.

Julia Boggs, Gift Shop Chair, urgently needs gift shop workers. Anyone interested should contact CRMC at 745-3500 and request an application be mailed or stop by and pick one up. Volunteering is personally rewarding, a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and give back to the community.

Edna Taulbee reminded everyone of three upcoming sales: a bake sale Nov. 25, Valentine sucker candy sale Feb.13, 2009, and an Easter candy sale April 9-10, 2009.

The annual flu shots were administered after the meeting adjourned. Anyone who did not attend the meeting can stop by CRMC Clinic during their normal business hours and request the shot.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, Nov. 10 and a program will be presented by Bruce Key, Director-International Services for Morrison Healthcare. All volunteers are urged to attend.
