Heart of Kentucky Flag Football Showdown set for Nov. 8

October 30, 2008

Flag football is on the rise and the pigskin will fly Nov. 8 in Lebanon as the city hosts the 2008 Heart of Kentucky Flag Football Showdown.

The 2008 Showdown, which is open to all age and skill levels with the exception of current and former professional football players, features teams from all over the state battling for the title at Graham Memorial Park.

Prize packages are awarded to the champion and runner-up teams and members of the Final Four teams get a commemorative T-shirt.

The tournament is single elimination format with the entry fee $80 per team.

Showdown play is 5-on-5 and each team can have up to three substitutes. Rosters must be turned in before the first game and no team swapping later. The tournament will be set up bracket style with a random draw, and some teams might have to play back-to-back games.
