Towne and Country club holds November meeting

Towne and Country Homemakers held their November meeting Nov. 4 at the Clark County Library in Winchester.

Mary Lou Shearer brought the meeting to order with the inspiration "The Lesson in the Wood Bowl."

Members replied to the roll call by answering with their favorite Thanksgiving food.

Betty Bonar led the lesson, "On Green Living."

A handout was given to all in attendance with tips for saving energy and water, eating responsibly and acting locally with recycling. Nov. 15 is America Recycles Day. Betty handed out "Green Bags" to each member to use when shopping instead of plastic bags.

Denise Knoble prepared a list of crafts/projects that the club has participated in during the last year. This report will be given to Jennifer Howard.

"Bags of Love" prepared by members full of Christmas gifts for children were taken to the Clark County Community Center for distribution for Christmas.

Betty Bonar, Sandy Hiles, Mary Lou Shearer, Helen Stephens, Sue Staton, Deanna Wright, Denise Knoble and Billye Jean Stigall enjoyed a potluck dinner. Megan DeCapio attended the meeting as a guest and joined the club.

Members of the club will enjoy their Christmas dinner Dec. 2 at Applebee's.

The next meeting will be held Jan. 6, 2009, at the Clark County Library at 6:30 p.m.
