* James Hopper, 85, of Danville died Tuesday. Arrangements are pending at Stith Funeral Home.

* Janie Belle Miller, 101, of Lancaster died Wednesday at her home. Arrangements are pending at Ramsey Funeral Home.

FUNERALS

Jacqueline Johnson1947-2008

Jacqueline Gearhart Johnson, 61, died Nov. 27 in Greensboro, N.C.

Born Oct. 8, 1947, in Lebanon, she grew up in Danville and spent most of her adult life in Virginia. The daughter of the late John and Fanny Gearhart, she was preceded in death by a son, Travis English, and her husband, Ted English. Her husband Ted Johnson also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, John (Rhonda) English; her grandchildren, Caley and William; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Bill Rathburn and Suzi and Elmer Johnson; and four nieces, Sara Jackson, Amy Sellers, Maggie Jackson and Amanda Goodwin.

A memorial service will be held in Virginia at a later date.

GARRARD

Robert Henry1935-2008

LANCASTER - Robert Thomas Henry, 73, of Lancaster died Tuesday.

Born Feb. 23, 1935, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary Bell Yocum Henry.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Etta; three sons, Robert Nelson Henry, David Thacker and Joseph Thacker; three daughters, Rhonda Gail Huffman, Regina Adams and Vivian Pierontoni; three brothers, Michael, Floyd and Joe; three sisters, Hadgie, Judy and Louise; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel with the Rev. Daryl Hodge, with burial in Lancaster Cemetery.

LINCOLN

Elizabeth Edrington1904-2008

MORELAND - Elizabeth Hall Edrington, 104, a longtime resident of Hustonville, recently residing in Brentwood, Tenn., died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008.

Born April 25, 1904, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Sarah Ann Childress Hall and loving wife of the late W.A. Edrington.

She taught in a one-room school house in Kentucky, farmed with her late husband in Casey County and was a lifetime member of the Hustonville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Grizzell with burial in Hustonville Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Friday.

Peter Garner1961-2008

CRAB ORCHARD - Peter Todd Garner, 47, of Stanford died Monday.

Born Aug. 31, 1961, in Marion, Ind., he was a son of the late Ralph L. and Gracie Lawson Garner.

Survivors include a sister, Drenda Sue Moerbe of Stanford; two nephews, Benjimen Farrer of Stanford and Chadrick Farrer of Brenham, Texas; a niece, Ashley Moerbe of Versailles; aunts, Peggy Hooper of Crab Orchard, Judith Kay Brown of South Carolina and Barbara Reynolds of Danville; an uncle, Johnny Garner of Crab Orchard; and several cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Crab Orchard Baptist Church.

McKnight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MERCER

Connie Chumley1926-2008

HARRODSBURG - Connie Chumley, 82, of Cornishville died Tuesday.

Born Oct. 9, 1926, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Roy and Artie Catlett Chumley.

Survivors include his wife, Ann; his son, David; a sister, Mary Cornish Elliott; three granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Mark King and Bro. Brian Burkhead, with burial in Cornishville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Teddie Luster1944-2008

INDIANAPOLIS - Teddie Douglas Luster, 64, died Wednesday at his Indianapolis residence.

Born June 16, 1944, in Lincoln County, he was the son of Coleman D. and Mary Florin (Smith) Luster.

Survivors include Beth E. Ellinger, whom he married Nov. 16, 1968; two sons, Jeff C. (Kelly) and Kevin D. Luster; a daughter, Michelle L. (Greg) Massengale; a brother, Frank Luster; four sisters, Martha Brown, Juanita I. Marr, Phyllis Frederick and Sharon B. Jones; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, George M. and C.D. Luster; and a sister, Faustine A. Montgomery.

Teddie worked for 32 years at General Motors as a pressman-rack repair before retiring in 2005. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local No. 23.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Stirling-Gerber Chapel, 5950 E. Thompson Road. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
